Valerie Peet Memorial Charity
The Valerie Peet Memorial Charity provides a
range of medical equipment and services for
patients in Bristol. The charity purchases
equipment that would not normally be available
on the NHS, such as oximeters to detect sleep
apnoea by measuring overnight oxygen levels, 24
hour blood pressure recorders and a tympanometer
to detect glue ear in children. We have also
purchased high dependency mattresses, bath lifts
and many simple aids for patients.
Funds are raised through Pembroke Road
Surgery, with staff and patients taking part in
a variety of activities from garden fĂȘtes, cake
stalls, and music gigs to running half marathons
and skydiving.
Valerie Peet was a much loved GP and highly
respected partner at Pembroke Road. She sadly
died of lymphoma after the birth of her second
child. She is missed by the staff at Pembroke
Road who knew her and by her patients.
If you know of someone who might find our
medical equipment helpful please contact Dr
Michael Rossdale, the charity secretary.
