 Nurses
Our experienced Nursing Team is
made up of a Nurse Practitioner, three
Practice Nurses and a Health Care
Assistant.
General Nursing Services
The Nurses are able to provide the
following services:
- Discuss healthy lifestyle choices and
diet
- Cholesterol & exercise advice.
- Check height, weight and blood pressure
- Remove sutures
- Carry out basic and more complicated
dressings
- Urinalysis
- Smear taking and contraception choices –
all the Nurses are trained in family
planning for contraception and sexual
health, including emergency
contraception.
Nurse Practitioner
The Practice has a very experienced
and highly competent Nurse Practitioner.
Sister Christine Milsom has undertaken
an extra qualification in addition to
her nursing training, to enable her to
be a Nurse Practitioner. In this
role she is able to triage (sort and
prioritise) patients who present with
urgent problems. She is able to
manage independently common minor
ailments such as sore throats, cystitis,
skin rashes and childhood infections,
and prescribe medication where
appropriate.
 Reception Team
Our busy Reception Team members make
appointments, deal with requests for
home visits, issue repeat prescriptions
and carry out many other clerical
duties. They will be your first point of
contact with the Practice and are a
useful source of information. They are
here to help you at all times.
Reception is often very busy in the
mornings, particularly on Mondays. It
would help the Receptionists if all
routine telephone calls could be made
after 11:00am.
Admin Team
We have a small and dedicated team
working behind the scenes providing
invaluable administrative support to the
Practice.
