Test Results

Your Results

Did you know you can view your test results online?

Sign up to The NHS App and follow the steps on how to view parts of your medical records. Please ensure you read the instructions on who can apply for detailed access and how to submit your application.

If you have opted to receive your results by text then we will endeavour to send you a text informing you of your results as soon as the doctor has reviewed them. Not all the test results will be received at the same time and so occasionally you may receive more than one text relating to different results. If you do not receive a text about your results then follow the information listed below.

For test results, please call the surgery after 2.00pm and select the appropriate option from the phone menu.

Note that the practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection and we will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

When you take your test you will be told how long it will be before the results are returned to the practice.

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to discuss them with your doctor if you are advised to do so. Our reception/admin staff can state if the test is marked as 'normal' by our clinicians but cannot advise you on the results or discuss abnormal results as they are not clinically trained to do so. If you have any further queries then please request to discuss with the clinical team.

Ideally we would ask patients to telephone the surgery for their results.  However, some patients do ask at reception if their results are in - please be aware that this is a public place.  Therefore if you come in and ask for your results the reception team will ask if you are happy for the information to be released before divulging any information.
